Formula 1 approached me about creating a 3D ident for a documentary series for broadcast.
The client wanted a quick ident that would appear at the end of each episode. They were unsure what should feature in it, and the turnaround time was tight. Instead of creating everything from scratch, I reused assets from earlier projects to build the environment and focused on creating maximum impact through lighting and animated textures.
The final result is a moody, cinematic ident. The puddles on the floor add extra production value and atmosphere, and the animated lighting creates a strong visual punch.
I used Cinema 4D for the 3D animation, Redshift for rendering, and After Effects for the compositing work. Even though the project was delivered in 4K at 50fps, I optimised the scenes heavily and the render times were impressively fast.
